My Mother Loved Each Day to the Fullest

My Mother Loved Each Day to the Fullest

By Amanda W - Apr 10, 2019

This story is about my mother.

My mother was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer at the age of 54. It had metastasized to her liver. She underwent treatment and it seemed to have worked, but little did we know it was still spreading. A year later, it was discovered that the cancer had gone to her brain. She did what she could to fight for 2 1/2 more years until it claimed her life.

I just want to say despite all the suffering she had, she never let it bring her down. She loved each day to the fullest and that’s what we have to remember, to never take life or our time on the planet for granted.

We do need to better educate ourselves. There should be more education on metastatic breast cancer because a lot of people are so unaware.

I pray for strength and positivity for anyone who is fighting this disease.
